I decided to replace the stock headlights with Morimoto Gen 2 C8 style headlights because I wanted the option of having amber daytime running lights (DRLs) and sequential turn signal indicators. While I like the factory headlights, I want my car to stand out from the crowd. My LED side markers and exhaust tunnel lights already catch attention at night, but I want to make my car distinctive both day and night.
I bought these through VetteLights.com just before the price increase, taking advantage of the discount offered to Corvetteforum.com members. They are likely the most expensive modification I’ve ever made to a car, but I believe they are worth the investment, especially considering the high cost of NOS replacements. The Morimoto lights come with a five-year warranty, which is definitely appealing.
I had already installed the Extreme Online Store Stage 2 front splitter, so I needed to remove it in order to take off the front bumper cover. Since I had prior experience with this process, it only took me 30 minutes to access the headlights. The task isn’t difficult, especially if you’re comfortable unsnapping the bumper cover at the designated locations. There is an installation PDF located here.

I am really happy with how these turned out. I have the option, with keys, to change to white DRLs and traditional flashing turn signal indicators. I am staying with amber for now simply because it stands out. The quality of these headlights is evident, and since the plastic housing meets or exceeds Toyota standards for durability, they should last the life of the car.
