The Story:
I originally went to Minnesota to look at a 2008 Corvette Z06, only to find out that it had not been cared for that well and it showed. While I was in the area and disappointed, we looked on Car Gurus for other Corvettes around us since we were there and I knew there was nothing near me. Eventually. we stumbled upon a silver Stingray at Morries Hyundai 394 in St Louis Park, MN, so we hit the road for a 30 minute drive from Stillwater.
The car looked great at first glance, but I was not enamored with the idea of an automatic. I figured I would give it a try and I was glad that I did. It shifted well and it was fun to just relax and drive a powerful car. I ended up deciding that automatic wasn’t a bad thing since it is easy to drive and it only opens up the resale market since a lot of people are looking for automatics. I thought about it, made what I said would be my only offer, and it was accepted. I really appreciate Ryan and Mitch working with me and just being a couple of nice guys. It was a pleasant experience since I had only bought from dealerships a couple of times in my life. Free delivery to me was the icing on the cake. People always remember the way you make them feel and this dealership knew that.
Everything about this car is just awesome and it was well taken care of by the previous owner. It is definitely in the condition that people expect to see from a detailing nerd like me. I will say, I am not that familiar with the Corvette scene, but the interior on the C7 is light years ahead of the previous generations. I have driven C4, C5, and C6 previously and I was largely unimpressed with the interiors. In the C7, I feel like I am in the cockpit of an F/A-18 Super Hornet ready to take on anything. Additionally, the C7 Bose stereo/speakers and infotainment seem like they are right out of 2023.
On a side note, I chose a 1LT because I wanted the simplest model out there. I don’t need all of the fancy stuff and I can avoid problems seen in the higher level trims. I appreciate simple, understated appearances..
