My Ultimate Detailing Cart Build

My Ultimate Detailing Cart Build

If you’re into keeping your car clean, you already know the biggest frustration isn’t always the washing itself—it’s hunting down supplies. One towel is in a cabinet, brushes are on a shelf, soap is in the corner, and the pressure washer accessories are somewhere you swore you left them last time.

That’s exactly why I decided to build a dedicated detailing cart setup for the garage.

This simple project turned out to be one of the best upgrades I’ve made for staying organized and making wash days faster, easier, and way more enjoyable.

This little cart allowed me to take my winter mess in the corner of my garage and whip it into shape:

Why Build a Detailing Cart?

The goal was simple: create one mobile station that holds everything I need for washing and detailing in one place.

Instead of making multiple trips around the garage, I can roll the cart out next to the car and get to work.

Benefits of a Detailing Cart:

  • Keeps supplies organized
  • Saves time during washes
  • Reduces clutter in the garage
  • Protects towels and chemicals from getting tossed around
  • Makes the whole process more efficient

Sometimes the smallest upgrades make the biggest difference.

The Cart I Used

The foundation of this build is the U.S. General 30-inch 1-Drawer Service Cart from Harbor Freight.

It’s sturdy, easy to assemble, and the drawer adds a huge advantage for storing smaller tools and accessories.

The three-tier design gives plenty of room for:

  • Soap and spray bottles
  • Towels
  • Brushes
  • Foam cannon accessories
  • Pressure washer gear
  • Interior detailing products
  • Miscellaneous tools

For the price, it’s hard to beat.

What’s on My Cart Setup?

I already had a few detailing essentials, so I built the cart around the gear I use most often.

Current Setup Includes:

  • Ryobi Pressure Washer
  • Foam Cannon
  • McKillans Stubby Gun
  • Towels
  • Brushes
  • Soap and cleaners
  • Tire products
  • Spray detailers
  • Miscellaneous wash accessories

Everything now has a dedicated spot, which means less mess and less wasted time.

Why It’s Worth It

The best part of this build is that it doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive.

You don’t need a professional detailing shop to create a setup that works well. A good cart and a little organization can completely change how you work in the garage.

Whether you’re washing a daily driver, weekend toy, truck, or Corvette, having a mobile detailing station just makes sense.

Final Thoughts

This detailing cart build was a simple project, but it made a huge difference in how I keep the garage organized and how I maintain the cars.

Sometimes the best upgrades aren’t flashy—they just make life easier.

If you’ve been thinking about building your own detailing cart, do it. You’ll wish you had done it sooner.
